Dear Church Family,

All of us have had defining moments in our lives. Defining moments are those decision points that change the course of our future either positively or negatively. Our commitment to Christ is a defining moment. The choice of a school and career defined our future as did the choice of our mate and the birth of a child. Even joining a local church like Pine Castle, has defined our future.

Throughout the history of our church there have always been defining moments. Responding by faith to those defining moments has allowed us to see lives being changed forever for the Kingdom. Now we as a church family face another defining moment as we continue to impact our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ and leave a legacy for all…so that they can carry the vision onward.

"God's Vision, Our Future," our stewardship and leadership campaign, is the vehicle that will launch us into God's full destiny and calling. How we respond to this defining moment will allow us to continue to provide the means of growth and outreach we believe that God has called us to now and in the future. "God's Vision, Our Future" is more than just raising funds and building buildings, it's about raising our faith and continuing to build people! New facilities will enable us to minister more effectively to our people and to reach more people with Christ's message of hope and salvation. It will instill new life and keep us from becoming complacent.

Our campaign's underlying theme is "Making His Purpose Our Passion." This reminds us that we cannot all give the same, but we can all give sacrificially and be equal partners in the work God has for us. The challenge is to be so ignited with out love for God that by faith we can give over and above what we ever dreamed possible the next three years as we see God's plan unfold.

This is your opportunity to see God do the impossible through our lives.

…make a difference with your resources.

…do something significant that will outlast our lives.

…leave a legacy for all of our children and future generations.

…see more lives changed by the power of Christ.

I am honored to serve as your pastor and am thankful for what a loving, committed congregation you are.  Let's together partner with God at this key defining moment in our history, fulfilling God's plan, God's way, for God's glory.

In Christ's Love,
Pastor Blake Lorenz
Senior Pastor

WORSHIP AND PRAYER

We have been called as a church to seek the Presence of God. God’s call upon our church is for God’s supernatural presence to break through into our natural world, because in His presence, we are transformed.

Worship is the most important thing that the church does upon the earth. God calls us to worship as an act of corporate and personal obedience. At a Pine Castle worship service experience, our mission is to bring people into the presence of God, to communicate the gospel to the unbeliever, to edify the church family, and to support the overall vision of Pine Castle in its evangelistic outreach to this city and the world.

It is our dream to be a center for prayer, where believers can come and be trained to pray and intercede for our city, nation, and world thus fulfilling the call of Christ.  (Mat.21:13/Isaiah 56:7)  Several times a year, PCUMC hosts a 48 hour prayer vigil. Our new Sanctuary will have a room designated for 24/7 prayer.

CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP

It is our dream to train and equip followers of Christ to become Christian Leaders and to multiply disciples throughout Orlando and to the ends of the earth.

            The Masters' Plan

Jesus had a plan and purpose and a Vision from His Father.  As Jesus poured his life into ordinary men, they would become extraordinary and do extraordinary things. Teams and small groups would multiply all over the world.

The goal of small groups at PCUMC is to prepare individuals to be transformed by the Holy Spirit and to rely on His power instead of living in the flesh, so that they may confront evil and be witnesses for Jesus Christ. We now have a vehicle – The Master’s Plan – for drawing individuals into small groups.

Every person was created to live a life devoted to God while in community. No one was designed to be a “Lone Ranger” Christian. The Master’s Plan is designed to provide an environment where every believer can mature in Christ with the rest of the PCUMC community.

            Pine Castle Christian Academy

In 1983, Pine Castle Christian Academy was created to be a Christian school where students could receive an outstanding academic education in an environment that nurtured spiritual growth. Through PCCA, God can pour into the lives of 740 children and youth who have the potential to become Christian leaders.

MISSIONS AND EVANGELISM

It is our dream to train and equip believers to witness, evangelize and  become leaders of World Evangelism through local outreach and missions. Evangelism and Missions at Pine Castle United Methodist follows an Acts 1:8 model.  Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”  In order to reach this mandate, our church interprets our Jerusalem as being Pine Castle and South Orlando; Judea as Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties; Samaria as Florida and the USA; and the Ends of the Earth as the rest of the world. We have planted 150 mission churches, and we support global ministries and mission partners who share our passion for changing lives by sharing the love and message of Christ.  Our local ministry partners serve physical, mental and spiritual needs here at home. Additionally, the church sponsors outreach ("Win") events such as Pioneer Days.

GENERATIONAL MINISTRIES

Our Dream is to capture the hearts and future of our nation by reaching the children and youth of our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Our Generational Ministries create an culture that nurtures children and youth in the Spirit so that they can stand strong and not compromise with the world. We believe that children can operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They’re not too young to do great things for God. We believe that no child is too young to know Christ personally and begin walking out the destiny that God has for them RIGHT NOW!

NEW FACILITIES

"I will fill this temple with glory...the glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,"says the LORD of hosts. "And in this place I will give peace." Haggai: 2:7,9

Pine Castle UMC entered the 21st Century in facilities designed for the 1950’s or 60’s. Frequent roof leaks allow water to flood church facilities, to create hazardous conditions and to ruin office equipment. The sprawling campus made early visits to PCUMC confusing and inconvenient. A family with children might need to drop older children off for Sunday school at the Lighthouse Educational Center on Waltham Avenue, and then walk across Hansel Avenue to take preschool age children to the 200 building, and then rush to adult classes in another building. Those with physical disabilities had a difficult time using our facilities and the campus.

Following the vision that God gave to the church several years ago, we have stepped out in faith as a church to build a church building, "The Master's House". Our new facilities will enable us to carry out God's Vision for our church in the following ways:

Our new 1,250 seat Sanctuary will not only increase our worship space, but it will enhance assemblies for Pine Castle Christian Academy.

We will have increased meeting space for Sunday School classes and small groups.

Children and preschoolers will now be under the same roof as their parents.

LEAVING A LEGACY...

We believe it is a privilege to be a part of the work God is doing at Pine Castle United Methodist Church. Now we have the opportunity to prepare together for the future God has set before us! The additions to our campus will not only continue to bless us and our families, but will bless our community and future generations as well.

 Three Ways to Give

  1. Give a cash gift. Ask God for creative ways to increase your gift. You might consider cash from savings, tax refunds, garage sales, or an extra part-time job. Also consider reducing your expenses or deferring a major purchase as a sacrifice to God. Involve your whole family in giving a specific amount.

  2. Make a 36-month Giving Pledge. The Bible teaches that spiritual maturity includes developing the habit of regular giving. Giving the first portion of our income shows that God really has first place in our lives. Also, you can give far more than you thought possible when it's spread out over time.

  3. Give stocks, securities, real estate or other assets.

What’s Next

  1. Ask God what you are to do.

  2. Complete your commitment card on Celebration Sunday, November 4, 2007.

  3. Bring your first gift on First Fruits Sunday, November 18, 2007.

  4. Remember, your God's Vision, Our Future commitment is above and beyond your tithe, which goes to the general fund.
